IRIS アイリス

"IRIS" is a story of unlikely yet enduring love between Iris Murdoch and John Bayley. Kate Winslet(ケイト・ウィンスレット) and Judi Dench (ジュディ・デンチ) played Iris Murdoch. Hugh Bonneville(ヒュー・ボナヴィル)and Jim Broadbent (ジム・ブロードベント)played her husband John Bayley. It depicts Iris's descent into Alzheimer's Disease movingly and tenderly, covering the period from just before her marriage to John until her death.

A Map of the World マップ・オブ・ザ・ワールド

Sigourney Weaver(シガニー・ウィーヴァー)is one of the most touching actresses for me. She acted well as almost always, and Julianne Moore(ジュリアン・ムーア)gave an absolutely stunning performance, and her character's complexity was one of the best things about the film. A school nurse, Sigourney Weaver(シガニー・ウィーヴァー), lives with her husband and two daughters on a dairy farm. After an accident on her property involving a friend's child, the town turns against her, and she finds herself fighting charges of child abuse.

Jurassic Park ジュラシック・パーク

"Jurassic Park" is one of the most underrated movies ever. People don't appreciate it as much today because other movies like it have been made. It contains all of Steven Spielberg(スティーヴン・スピルバーグ)'s magic such as excellent art direction, wonderful camera techniques, and great technical quality. It was the first movies to use CGI at such a large scale. I think it had a big effect on movie industries.

Erin Brockovich エリン・ブロコビッチ

Julia Roberts(ジュリア・ロバーツ) fully embodies her character. Steven Soderbergh(スティーヴン・ソダーバーグ), the director, brings out a complete acting range from her as Brockovich. And with this, Julia Roberts(ジュリア・ロバーツ)can claim this as her breakthrough role which finally separates her from her trademark persona. Julia Roberts(ジュリア・ロバーツ) got the Oscar for Best Actress and received an unprecedented salary for her lead role, making her the first woman to break the $20m barrier.

Indiana Jones インディ・ジョーンズ

Blockbusters are beautiful. I think you can feel the physical pain some of the actors or stuntmen got to give 2 hours of pure entertainment in "Indiana Jones". It might be a pity that too much CGI makes everything possible nowadays. Steven Spielberg(スティーヴン・スピルバーグ), George Lucas(ジョージ・ルーカス), and most of all, Harrison Ford(ハリソン・フォード)created a hero, and they created their own legend. It's exciting, fun, thrilling and romantic. What more do you want?

A Room with a View 眺めのいい部屋

I enjoyed E. M. Forster(E・M・フォスター)'s novel, but I thought I'd fallen in love with its film. And I wasn't wrong. Helena Bonham Carter(ヘレナ・ボナム・カーター) is so elegant in this film. This movie is one of the rarest of great novel adaptations. Some people might think the film is better than the book.

LEON レオン

One of Luc Besson(リュック・ベッソン)'s masterpieces. Leon(Jean Reno/ジャン・レノ), a perfect assassin and Mathilda(Natalie Portman/ナタリー・ポートマン), an innocent girl. They have nothing to lose except each other. I thought revenge is tough even for professionals.

Ghost ゴースト ニューヨークの幻

You can't always say many films are really beautiful love stories, but here's one. Demi Moore(デミ・ムーア) is a cutie in this movie. The role of Oda Mae Brown was not written with Whoopi Goldberg(ウーピー・ゴールドバーグ)in mind, but Patrick Swayze(パトリック・スウェイジ) convinced the producers that she would be right for the part.

Children of a Lesser God 愛は静けさの中に

Love has a language all of its own. William Hurt(ウィリアム・ハート) is excellent, and Marlee Matlin(マーリー・マトリン) is outstanding. She won the Best Actress Oscar for her role as Sarah Norman at the age of 21. She is the youngest winner of a Best Actress Oscar. She gives one of the most amazing cinematic performances of all time.

As Good As It Gets 恋愛小説家

Everything is good and warm in this film. Everything is fresh and understandable and well performed. I love both Jack Nicholson(ジャック・ニコルソン) and Helen Hunt(ヘレン・ハント). They are so good. Do you think Jack Nicholson(ジャック・ニコルソン) is scary-looking? Please try to find his another mask with this film. He is so cute.

Good Will Hunting グッド・ウィル・ハンティング

An absolute must see. Matt Damon(マット・デイモン) and his buddy Ben Affleck(ベン・アフレック) are awesome. Robin Williams(ロビン・ウィリアムズ) and Minnie Driver(ミニー・ドライバー) too. I obviously rate it 10 out of 10. Matt Damon(マット・デイモン) wrote this film at the age of 27. Amazing.

Gremlins グレムリン

"Gremlins" is a cute film, and it's still funny and enjoyable to watch. Cute, clever, mischievous, intelligent, and dangerous..... I think it captivates an audience of the 1980s in the same way that "E.T." did. Don't get him wet, keep him out of bright light, and never feed him after midnight. The gremlins are coming. (Gizmo ⇔ Gremlin) Which do you like more gizmos or gremlins?
